Job summary

Park District of La Grange is seeking a BASE Site Leader to manage the after‑school BASE program at La Grange. You will plan activities, supervise staff, ensure student safety, and serve as the primary contact for families and school partners.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years’ experience with children, leadership experience, and CPR/First Aid. The position is part-time, onsite, with benefits listed in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; coursework in Education or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with children in educational or recreational settings.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certified or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities that are engaging, educational, and age appropriate.
• Create & maintain daily schedules, routines, class lists and student tracking forms.
• Overall responsibility for day-to-day operations of the program.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and school staff.
• Supervise, train, and support staff; ensure staff-to-student ratios.
• Ensure compliance with park district and school district policies.
