Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is seeking part-time Recreation Assistants for the Sportsplex, Matthews, NC. The roles involve coordinating athletic reservations, supervising participants and spectators, and maintaining facilities and equipment.

The positions work weekday evenings and weekends, with significant interaction with event organizers and the public. No prior experience is required; a high school diploma or equivalent is needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: No experience required.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Computer Skills: General knowledge of various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges; CPR/First Aid.
• Knowledge: Recreation, programs, and customer service-oriented responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at a recreation facility, including handling information and registrations.
• Collect fees and process registrations for athletic events and reservations.
• Assist in maintenance of athletic equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Assist with logistics and preparations for athletic reservations and events.
• Ensure safety and enforce facility rules and regulations.
