Job summary

Mecklenburg County Government’s Park and Recreation Department is seeking Recreation Assistants to organize and direct athletic reservations at the Sportsplex in Matthews, NC. These positions are Limited Part Time (~19 hr/week) and Temporary, with schedules mostly weekday evenings and weekends.

You will monitor participants, assist with facility guidelines, maintenance, and communications with event organizers to ensure smooth operations and safe experiences for visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience in recreation or athletics is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and communication.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and handle funds for registrations and rentals.
• Collect fees and take registrations for athletic events.
• Assist with maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Support logistics for athletic reservations and events.
• Handle inquiries and ensure participant/spectator safety.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations.
