Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is excited to add Recreation Assistants to our team! We currently have Limited Part Time (~19hr/week) and Temporary opportunities available. These positions will be responsible for organizing and directing athletic reservations at Mecklenburg County’s Sportsplex located in Matthews, NC. The incumbents will monitor participants and spectators to ensure all facility guidelines are followed, perform maintenance and cleaning of athletic equipment, buildings, and grounds. In addition, they will partner with stadium event organizers and venue management to ensure proper preparation for events and will remain in communication with them to allow for effective facility operation. The schedules for these positions will primarily consist of weekday evenings and weekends based on facility needs and event schedules.
Facility Overview: The Sportsplex is located on 175 acres and consists of 9 synthetic turf multi-purpose fields, 2 grass multi-purpose fields, and a 5,000-spectator capacity grass multi-purpose Stadium. The facility hosts a variety of local, regional, and national youth, high school, college, and adult sports year-round, including tournaments and large Stadium events.
Experience: No experience required.
High School Diploma or equivalent
General knowledge of various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
Position requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges; CPR/First Aid
