Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is seeking a Part Time Recreation Assistant for Southview Recreation Center. The role supports staff with recreation programming, arts, crafts, games, athletics, fitness, and summer camps for diverse populations, with daytime hours and occasional evenings/holidays.

No experience is required; a High School Diploma or equivalent is needed. A valid NC/SC driver’s license and CPR/First Aid, plus basic MS Office skills, are required to perform

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges; CPR/First Aid.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and handle funds in a recreation center or park facility via phone, emails, website, social media, and walk-in patrons for information, program registration, center use and rentals.
• Ensure safety of participants and administer first aid when necessary.
• Enforce rules and regulations.
• Collect fees and registrations for programs and facility rentals.
• Assist in light maintenance of facilities and recreational areas.
• Referee at various sports activities; act as timekeeper, scorekeeper or line-person.
• Assist with recreation programs for all ages.
• Handle inquiries and complaints from the public.
• Assist with special events and field trips.
