Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Department is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Assistant to join our Park & Recreation Team at Naomi Drenan Recreation Center. You will oversee facility rentals, provide customer service, and assist with events and programming for all ages, up to 19 hours per week.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent; no experience required. A valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver's license and CPR/First Aid certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license and County driving privileges; CPR/First Aid.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and handle funds in a recreation center or park facility via phone, emails, website, social media and in-person.
• Ensure safety of participants and administer first aid when necessary.
• Enforce rules and regulations.
• Collect fees and registrations for programs and facility rentals.
• Assist in light facility maintenance and recreational areas.
• Referee at sports activities; serve as timekeeper, scorekeeper, or lineperson as needed.
• Assist with programs for all ages and handle inquiries from the public.
• Assist with special events and field trips.
