Duties

Pool and/or Waterfront Lifeguard duties comprise 60% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:

• Performs all pool and/or waterfront lifeguard responsibilities (e.g., supervising swimmers/patrons, monitoring water activities, applying first aid, enforcing safety rules, reporting hazards, performing rescues).
• Observes conditions of assigned area to ensure safety, removing hazards like debris or glass.
• Performs rescue work, administers CPR or first aid, and calls for medical assistance when needed.
• Conducts and documents chemical testing, adjusts chemicals as directed.
• Documents water and weather conditions.

General duties

Comprise 40% of time and include:

• Administers aquatic assessment testing and certification per policies.
• Provides equipment orientations, checks IDs, collects fees.
• Serves as liaison during emergencies.
• Performs cleaning and routine maintenance.
• Inspects safety equipment and facilities.
• Maintains emergency equipment.
• Enforces policies regarding facility use.
• Prepares incident reports and notifies management.
• Works with hazardous materials.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

• Must pass background and records checks.
• Must pass E-Verify.
• NF-2 must upload Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens certifications.

Qualifications

Resumes should demonstrate experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs). Qualified NF-2 candidates possess:

• Knowledge of safety rules and policies.
• Ability to identify hazards and assist patrons.
• Ability to enforce rules tactfully.
• Ability to conduct safety inspections and chemical testing.
• Proficiency in rescue techniques and communication skills.

Education

No formal education requirement.
