Summary

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). Incumbent provides lifeguard duties; is responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons at the assigned work area; assists with Aquatic training, education, and general support at the installation.

Duties

1. Performs all pool and/or waterfront lifeguard responsibilities, including supervising swimmers, monitoring water activities, applying first aid, enforcing safety rules, reporting hazards, and performing rescues.
2. Observes conditions of the area, removing hazards like floating debris or glass.
3. Performs rescues, provides CPR or first aid, and calls for medical assistance when needed.
4. Conducts and documents chemical testing of pools, adjusting chemicals as directed.
5. Documents marine life, water, and weather conditions.
6. Administers aquatic assessment testing and certification per policies.
7. Provides equipment orientations and checks identification and fees.
8. Serves as liaison during emergencies and performs facility maintenance and safety inspections.
9. Uses and maintains emergency equipment and enforces policies.
10. Prepares incident reports and notifies management of emergencies.
11. Works with hazardous materials safely.

Requirements

• Starting May 7, 2025, a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or acceptable ID is required for access.
• Must pass background and records checks, and E-Verify.
• NF-1 must obtain Lifeguard Certification, CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days.
• NF-2 must upload certifications to qualify.
