Requirements

• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• Must pass all applicable records and background checks.
• NF-2 must upload the following certifications: 1) Lifeguard Certification, 2) CPR for Professional Rescuers, 3) First Aid including AED, and 4) Blood Borne Pathogens.
• Starting May 7, 2025, non-affiliated individuals requesting access will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another acceptable ID to access CNRMA Installations. (See the required documents section for more info.)

Qualifications

A qualified NF-2 candidate possesses:

• Knowledge of pool and waterfront safety rules.
• Knowledge of DoD, DON, and CNIC policies on aquatic assessment testing and certifications.
• Knowledge of policies regarding use of aquatic facilities and waterfront operations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Ability to identify hazards and assist patrons immediately.
• Ability to enforce rules tactfully and forcefully.
• Ability to conduct safety inspections and maintain environmental health standards.
• Knowledge of chemical testing and adjustment.
• Skilled in surf lifesaving techniques and radio communications for rescues.
• Ability to control large groups and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Additional Information

Salary depends on experience and education. Participation in a 1-year probationary period and electronic fund transfer is required. E-Verify is used to confirm employment eligibility. Positions may require travel and a government travel card. All federal employees must remain drug-free per Executive Order 12564.
