Job summary

BestCare Treatment Services, Inc. is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to assist outpatient mental health clients, including those recently discharged from higher levels of care.

You will promote recovery, provide supportive outreach, and work with a treatment team to encourage client self-direction. The role emphasizes direct client interactions, crisis monitoring, transportation to services, and coordination with community resources, with documentation in the EHS system and regular team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Must hold a Peer Support Specialist certification or commit to obtain within six months.
• Oregon Driver License or ability to obtain one required; driving eligibility under policy.

Responsibilities

• Directs interactions with clients and serves as a recovery role model.
• Make and answer calls to support clients, including those at risk of self-harm or crises.
• Transport clients to appointments and access services.
• Identify client strengths, barriers, and recovery resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health system (EHS).
• Attend meetings and provide back-up in groups and activities.
• Connect clients to community-based pro-social or wellness activities.
