Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a Driver Recovery Coach to transport clients by van to residential, clinical, and medical programs and to support engagement and smooth transitions into care. The role emphasizes quality customer service and teamwork.

The position requires a high school diploma, valid NJ driver's license, and CCAR recovery training, plus CPI within 90 days. The work is daytime with potential evening overlap and driving responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid NJ Driver's License required.
• 18 hours Ethics/Peer Support Training and 46 hours Recovery Specialist training (CCAR) required.
• CPI required within 90 days of hire or transfer. Current incumbents required to obtain CPI by 7/31/2026.
• Minimum 1 year of personal recovery and knowledge of the recovery process.
• Ability to recognize the elements of a client crisis.
• Advocates on behalf of the client(s) if in need.
• Provides routine recovery check-ups through telephone support.
• Ability to respect all cultures and ethic differences.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients by van for residential, clinical, and medical programs.
• Assist in client engagement and ensuring smooth transition into their program.
• Educates individuals on how to navigate treatment, social service and recovery support systems.
• Acts as positive role model to individuals and their families, sharing experiential knowledge, hope and skills.
• Maintains relationships with individuals and families to assist engagement and retention.
• Reinforces that recovery is possible and is built on strengths, coping abilities and resources.
• Assists survivors with gaining skills and resources needed to initiate and maintain recovery.
• Establish and sustain a social and physical environment supportive of recovery.
• Enhances identification and participation in the recovery community.
• Advocates for appropriate and effective community treatment and recovery.
• Empowers individuals to make self-determined choices about their recovery pathways.
• Provides on-call coverage if needed.
• Transports patients as needed.
• Other duties as assigned
