Job summary

The Farley Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Driver - Recovery to coordinate and safely transport clients to and from program activities, appointments, and events. You will monitor client behavior, participate in crisis situations, and report effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid state driver’s license; CPR/De-escalation certification may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• One+ years’ relevant work experience in a behavioral facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives company vehicles to transport clients for admissions, appointments, activity trips, discharges, and other events.
• Picks up or transports visitors or staff as needed.
• Ensures all passengers wear seatbelts before starting the vehicle.
• Maintains supervision of clients while transporting and follows safety policies.
• Acts as a positive role model, promotes calm communication and conflict resolution.
• Documents transportation in client records as assigned.
• Gives verbal reports to oncoming shift and adheres to on-call requirements.
• Completes transportation documentation accurately.
• Maintains vehicle logs and reports maintenance issues promptly.
• Keeps vehicles clean and in safe, functional condition.
• Responds to units to assist in behavioral events when needed.
• Reports any vehicle-related incidents promptly.
• Drives facility vehicle to pick up supplies or equipment as needed.
