Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking a Recovery Support Technician/Peer Support Supervisor in Manchester, KY to assist the Program Manager in supervising frontline staff in a residential addiction recovery program.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years post-secondary preferred, two years facility experience and at least one year of supervision, plus a valid driver’s license and CPR certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma, or GED.
• Two years post-secondary education preferred.
• Two years prior experience in a treatment facility (or other specialized knowledge and experience) and at least one year supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
• Must have ability to meet people and be CPR certified, upon 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational control of the facility in the absence of clinical staff.
• Maintain chronologically written records of events that occur during shift.
• Maintain client and visitor sign-in/sign out log.
• Control contraband in facility through observation, package searches and room searches.
• Insure facility cleanliness, maintenance, health and safety of the facility.
• Ensures that RST/PSS staff monitor client duties/chores.
• Observe client and visitor behavior and report abnormal behavior to Supervisor.
• Make periodic rounds of facility and grounds and monitor clients and visitors.
• Monitor all clients and visitors’ activities.
• Ensure fire and other safety measures are carried out and be familiar with basic functions of fire equipment.
• Ensure clients and visitors compliance with Volunteers of America policies.
• Ensure that PSS staff appropriately search inventory and secure clients’ possessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certificate
• Maintain appropriate staff to client ratios by working closely with supervisor on scheduling of tech staff.
• Ensure that staff/clients have sufficient supplies.
• Attend treatment team meetings as required.
• Supervises self-administration of medication and medication control procedures.
• Deals with incidents of low performance in RST/PSS staff as outlined in agency policy and procedure.
