CHR Community Health Resources, Inc. is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist for the MH Emergency Department in Manchester, CT.

This full-time role involves travel between hospitals, 40 hours/week, typically Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm, with a $4,000 sign-on bonus. Ideal candidates have lived recovery experience, 2+ years with target populations, and relevant certifications or be prepared to obtain them within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Lived experience establishing and maintaining recovery from mental health or substance use condition(s).
• Minimum 2+ years working with identified populations; RSS preferred.
• Recovery-related certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying and advocating their recovery goals.
• Conduct program-specific assessments and screens as indicated.
• Collaborate with clients to create individualized and person-centered treatment plans.
• Conduct skills teaching to assist clients as needed.
• May provide crisis intervention or de-escalation as needed.
• Provide case management and connect to supports; coordinate with treatment teams.
• Screen for Social Determinants of Health and address barriers to healthcare.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Transport clients as required by program.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
