Job summary

Horizon Health and Wellness in Florence, AZ seeks a dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist to provide empathetic recovery coaching, mentoring, and education to individuals on their recovery journey.

This safety-sensitive role requires lived experience with mental health or substance use, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; CPI/CPR training is provided. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and the Kindness Matters ethos guides daily work.

Qualifications

• Recovery Peer Support Specialist Certificate (or ability to get it within 3 months of hire).
• HS diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
• Certification in first aid, CPR, and Crisis De-Escalation training (ie CPI).
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Have availability of home telephone for easy access of Agency contact.
• Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
• Must obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery peer support services to assigned caseload and document services.
• Provide kind, empathetic support, coaching, mentoring, and education during the recovery process.
• Contribute to creating a positive experience for participants in a Kindness Matters environment.
