Job summary

Horizon Health and Wellness, Inc. in Arizona seeks a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to provide empathetic recovery coaching, mentoring, and education to individuals on their recovery journey.

Requirements include a Recovery Peer Support Specialist Certificate (or ability to obtain within 3 months), HS diploma or GED, lived experience with mental health or substance use, and 21+ with a valid driver's license. We value bilingual candidates.

Qualifications

• Requires Recovery Peer Support Specialist Certificate or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Certification in first aid, CPR, and Crisis De-Escalation training (e.g., CPI).
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have a home telephone for agency contact.
• Ability to type and work with electronic clinical records.
• Must obtain fingerprint clearance card and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery peer support services to assigned caseload and document services.
• Offer coaching, mentoring and education to individuals during their recovery process.
• Create a positive experience for participants; uphold Kindness Matters in all interactions.
• Maintain calm and supportive attitude during crisis situations.
• Operate agency vehicle if needed and ensure safety of participants.
