Job summary

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is seeking a full-time Peer Support Specialist to join our community-based Peer Services team. This role uses lived experience and training to provide support, mentorship, and group facilitation.

Starting wage is $22.75 per hour, paid bi-weekly, with 24 PTO days per year and 11 paid holidays. A premium-free medical plan with an HSA contribution, retirement savings with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and other benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Requires a GED or HS Diploma and 2 years of related individual and group peer support experience.
• Requires obtaining state certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS).
• Requires lived experience with trauma and with substance use or mental health challenges.
• Experience with databases and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered peer support to individuals with diverse backgrounds.
• Promote recovery and wellness through group facilitation and mentorship.
• Meet with clients to build safe relationships and coordinate services.
• Facilitate recovery-related presentations and outreach.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of client services in the agency database.
