Job summary

LifeWorks is seeking a part-time Peer Support Specialist to join the on-site Peer Services team at our Austin location. The role involves peer-led activities in a youth Drop-In Center, using trauma-informed, strength-based support to foster recovery and wellness.

Schedule includes fixed Saturday 12:00pm–8:00pm with additional shifts available as needed. The ideal candidate has a GED/HS diploma, 2 years of peer support, and state certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist, plus lived

Qualifications

• Requires GED or HS Diploma and 2 years of peer support experience.
• Requires state certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS).
• Requires lived experience with trauma and substance use or mental health challenges, with a 2-year recovery history.
• Experience with databases; proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered, healing-centered peer support services to diverse individuals.
• Promote recovery, resiliency, and accountability to help others achieve long-term recovery.
• Meet with clients to establish relationships, refer and coordinate services as needed.
