Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to facilitate recovery and wellness using lived experience. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized recovery plans and provide ongoing engagement after crises to promote successful treatment linkage.

As a role model for recovery, you will coordinate resources, offer education, and support families while adhering to program guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in medical assistant or related health field preferred.
• 2 years experience as a self-identified recovering consumer required.
• 2 years experience coping with own substance use disorder issues and maintaining recovery required.
• 1 year experience as paid or volunteer in health services required.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-based recovery support services through advocacy, mentoring, education, resource navigation, and recovery coaching.
• Engage in hospital and community settings including referrals to treatment and recovery resources.
• Document encounters and maintain timely records within required timeframes.
