Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Registered Peer Recovery Specialist to provide non-clinical, recovery-focused support in our Outpatient Behavioral Health programs. You will use your lived experience to assist individuals in reaching personalized recovery goals and connect them with community resources.

You will work as part of a comprehensive treatment team, documenting contacts within 24 hours and supporting group activities and wellness coaching.

Qualifications

• Ability to positively interact with persons with mental illness, substance use disorders and developmental disabilities, and their families.
• Active listening and ability to educate and assistive supports to consumers and families.
• Strong time management, organization, dependability and independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-to-peer support within Outpatient Behavioral Health programs, using lived recovery experience.
• Facilitate group activities and wellness coaching (WRAP, Dual Recovery, etc.).
• Assist in developing and implementing recovery-wellness plans with individuals.
• Document all service contacts within 24 hours and ensure accurate treatment documentation.
• Collaborate with the treatment team and community resources to support client goals.
• Attend mandatory trainings and participate in supervision sessions.
