Job summary

Psynergy Programs, Inc. is seeking a Peer Support/Mentor in Sacramento, CA to work as part of an integrated team, promoting self-determination and recovery. You will build trusting relationships with clients and support their participation in treatment plans.

The role involves counseling, accompanying clients to activities, and assisting with daily living tasks in a residential and clinical setting. A valid driver’s license and ability to meet health/safety requirements are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Consumer of Mental Health Services; lived experience preferred.
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively; follow directions within a program.
• Ability to read/write routine reports and correspondence; speak before groups.

Responsibilities

• Monitor activities and whereabouts of clients to ensure health and safety.
• Encourage clients to attend activities, groups, and appointments.
• Provide counseling and support to clients.
• Assist with daily living activities (feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Monitor behavioral changes, document observations.
• Assist in transportation of clients to outings and appointments.
• Attend staff, program, agency and community meetings and trainings.
