Job summary

Center Point DAAC in Santa Rosa seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide individual and group recovery services. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, documenting services in the EHR, supporting clients through admissions, and promoting engagement in treatment.

Ideal candidates hold a Medi-Cal Peer Support Certification, have lived recovery experience, and can share it appropriately while maintaining professional boundaries. A valid CA driver's license and ongoing CE are required.

Qualifications

• Current Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA.
• Certification kept current; if not, certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• Self-identified lived recovery experience with recovery from substance use or mental health.
• Willingness to share recovery experience appropriately in work.
• Signed agreement to follow Medi-Cal Code of Ethics for Peer Support.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver License with acceptable driving record and proof of insurance if driving.
• Maintain CalMHSA certification; 20 hours CE every two years, 6 hours on law and ethics.
• Ability to act as a mandated reporter under California law.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group Peer Support Services per client treatment plan.
• Build recovery-oriented relationships to promote hope and engagement.
• Share lived recovery experience appropriately while maintaining boundaries.
• Reinforce coping skills, emotion regulation, and relapse prevention concepts.
• Assist clients in identifying recovery goals and celebrating progress.
• Support admissions, discharges, transfers, and transitions for continuity of care.
• Encourage participation in treatment services and community resources.
• Collaborate with counselors, care coordinators, and treatment team.
• Complete accurate Medi-Cal compliant documentation in EHR on service date.
