Job summary

Telecare Corporation is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach I to engage and support members on their recovery journeys at a Riverside, California location. The role emphasizes recovery culture and person-centered planning with emphasis on de-escalation and crisis response.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and state-approved peer certification. A valid driver's license and willingness to use the company vehicle to transport clients are also required. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire and maintained.
• One year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members with behavioral health challenges.
• Two years' full-time experience or part-time equivalent in a mental health program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities or a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or behavioral sciences.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care.
• Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
• Valid and current driver's license, and personal vehicle insurance with name listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups.

Responsibilities

• Engage, inspire, and facilitate conversations with members to help explore and meet recovery goals.
• Provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare's Recovery Culture and RCCS principles.
• Respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation to maintain a least restrictive environment.
