Job summary

BrightView seeks a dedicated Counselor to support individuals on their recovery journey within our Virginia treatment team. You will provide group therapy, intake assessments, crisis de-escalation, and participate in treatment planning to monitor progress.

Proficiency in documenting in the electronic health record and adherence to regulatory and BrightView compliance is essential. A state-regulated credential (e.g., CSAC-S) and a Bachelor’s degree are preferred; 1+ year of experience is required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly empathetic and compassionate to support recovery.
• Team-player capable of collaborating in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Adaptable and agile in a dynamic work environment.
• Technologically capable; comfortable with multiple systems (MS Office).
• Familiar with BrightView’s compliance culture and integrity expectations.
• Prior harm-reduction experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct group therapy sessions and patient intake assessments.
• Provide crisis and de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with treatment planning and monitor progress toward goals.
• Coordinate patient care with the onsite multidisciplinary team; participate in required meetings.
• Document all treatment data in the electronic health record; ensure regulatory and company compliance.
