Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks a Recovery Coach to support individuals with substance use disorders within WVU Health System settings, developing individualized plans and connecting patients to outpatient treatment and recovery resources.

You will mentor patients using personal recovery experiences, meet with patients and support persons, and collaborate with the treatment team to inform decisions and coordinate care across services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• State peer recovery certification as required (WV PRSS-SUD or MD CPRS).
• Background check required by state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Work with patients with substance use disorders identified in WVU Health System settings and link to outpatient treatment.
• Mentor individuals using life experience in recovery.
• Meet with patients and supports face-to-face or by phone as scheduled.
• Develop and monitor individualized wellness plans with patients.
• Provide information to the treatment team to inform decisions.
• Link patients to resources (housing, education, recovery supports, etc.).
• Serve as liaison to patient supports including family and sponsors.
• Maintain relationships with WVU Health System staff and partner agencies.
