Job summary

Vinfen is seeking a Peer Specialist in Lowell to provide recovery-oriented support to clients and collaborate with outpatient teams. The role centers on mentorship, skills-building, and coordinating with community resources to foster independent, meaningful lives.

You will leverage lived experience with addiction and co-occurring disorders to connect with clients, assist in treatment planning, and advocate for person-centered care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with addiction and/or co-occurring mental health disorders with at least 3 years in recovery
• Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) credentials preferred but not required
• CPR and First Aid certification within two weeks of hire (Vinfen offers training)
• Valid driver’s license; at least 21 years old; clean driving record
• Must pass CORI, SORI, references and employment verifications

Responsibilities

• Outreaches to and supports clients to develop recovery skills and pro-social behavior
• Collaborate with treatment team to assess readiness for change and engagement
• Assist clients in navigating health care, mental health and SUD services
• Provide education on mental illness, addiction and recovery
• Attend meetings with probation officers, social workers, PCPs, DCF or other agencies
• Assist with transportation to referrals and community resources
• Contribute expertise to treatment teams on recovery education and interventions
• Apply recovery-oriented, harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches
• Monitor progress in the client’s electronic health record
• Perform other duties as required
