  • Load, offload, move, stack, and organize boxes, pallets, and packages as needed.
  • Provide reception coverage during breaks or lunch periods.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Records Support Associate for a contract/temporary administrative opportunity in Washington, DC supporting a government and public sector environment. This role is ideal for a dependable clerical professional who enjoys structured work, high-volume document handling, records organization, mail processing, scanning, and data entry.

Must have Secret Clearance or higher.

The Records Support Associate will support records retirement, file preparation, document sequencing, mail distribution, and archive activities. This position offers a stable, process-driven work setting where accuracy, consistency, teamwork, and reliability are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform records retirement projects, including pulling records, verifying alphabetical order, preparing folders, boxing files, typing manifests, and recording accession numbers or identifiers.
  • Prepare files for retention, disposition, retrieval, mailing, and storage according to established procedures.
  • Assist with incoming mail distribution, third-party mail sorting, document sequencing, scanning, and basic data entry.
  • Operate high-speed scanning equipment and generate mailing labels for shipping and archival processes.
  • Load, offload, move, stack, and organize boxes, pallets, and packages using manual or electric pallet jacks when required.
  • Provide reception coverage during breaks or lunch periods, including answering administrative telephones as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay rate: $22 to $25 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Support records retirement, archiving, file preparation, and document retrieval projects.
  • Process incoming and third-party mail, including sorting, distribution, scanning, and document sequencing.
  • Perform basic data entry, manifest typing, label generation, and records tracking.
  • Move, stack, load, and organize physical records, boxes, pallets, and packages.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a high-volume production, clerical, records, mailroom, scanning, or document processing environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to follow established procedures and document sequencing patterns.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, scanning, opening mail, stacking, sorting, filing, reading, un-stapling, and paper-clipping.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively in a structured team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with records management, document imaging, mailroom operations, file archiving, or government administrative support.
  • Experience operating high-speed scanning equipment.
  • Familiarity with FedEx, UPS, USPS, or other carrier shipping processes.
  • Experience using manual or electric pallet jacks in an office, records, warehouse, or production support setting.
