Job summary

Orange County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Records Technician to identify and gather data, compile reports, and perform clerical duties in a busy office. The role requires strong data entry, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various databases and court systems. Workdays are Monday through Friday with variable hours between 7:00 a.m.

and 8:00 p.m. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be a U.S. citizen, and able to obtain FCIC/NCIC certification within a year.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Accredited high school or GED diploma (cannot accept a certificate of completion).
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be evaluated.
  • Must be able to obtain FCIC/NCIC certification within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and gather data to compile reports for agencies and individuals.
  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and log on-site visitors.
  • Enter information into and maintain databases and files.
  • Conduct FCIC/NCIC background checks.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the State Attorney's Office.
  • Assist the general public, collect money, issue receipts.
  • Perform notary duties and fingerprinting.
  • Maintain security and inspect the building.
  • May be reassigned to the Records/Identification Unit as needed.
