Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to oversee the Inspection Center, leading a team of up to 70 associates in a lean manufacturing environment. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure quality, and manage production objectives, coaching leaders and staff for ongoing development.

The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to safety, and ability to deliver results in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to meet project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results.
• Strong analytical and decision-making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to walk up to three miles daily.
• Standing for extended periods; exposure to varying conditions; PPE may be required.
• Lift up to 40 pounds independently; kneeling, bending, and reaching as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans aligned with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that promotes communication, team cohesion, and Carvana values.
• Maintain supervisory staff through recruitment, orientation, and training.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are followed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity for each line and assist with planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision to the team in meeting performance metrics.
• Positive reinforcement of quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
