Role Overview:

Could you be our next Reconciliation Specialist? **** Globe Life is looking for a Reconciliation Specialist to join the team!

In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling bank accounts to the general ledger in accordance with established SOX guidelines. You will perform these reconciliations using the Trintech Cadency Financial software suite. You will be responsible for identifying a range of outstanding reconciliation items, including unmatched items, paid-not-issued transactions, paid amount discrepancies, and encoding errors.

You will research and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner. You will contact the appropriate bank resources to address any banking errors and reach out to the relevant departments to correct any keyed ledger errors. You will check multiple banking institutions for Positive Pay exceptions through network banking systems and research these exception items to make informed decisions online about whether to pay or decline the exception checks.

In addition, you will be responsible for issuing, voiding, and placing stop payments on checks within the network banking system. You will reconcile general ledger suspense accounts and identify and research outstanding suspense items, notifying the appropriate department for resolution. You will ensure that all outstanding suspense items are resolved promptly.

Finally, you will coordinate outstanding issued checks with Unclaimed Property and update banking reconciliation reports accordingly.

This is a remote / work from home position.

What You Will Do:

• Reconcile posted ledger activities to activities from the bank using ReconNET.
• Reconcile posted ledger activities in assigned suspense accounts using Certification.
• Identify and research outstanding items using multiple software resources.
• Make correcting Journal Entries or communicate outstanding items to proper department for resolution.
• Check for Positive Pay Exceptions in several different banking institutions through network banking.
• Issue, void and place stop on checks through network banking.
• Research exception items and make a decision online to pay or decline exception checks.
• Reconcile posted ledger activities in assigned suspense accounts using ReconNET and Certification.
• Identify and research outstanding items using multiple software resources.
• Make correcting Journal Entries or communicate outstanding items to proper department for resolution.
• Maintain check registers for issued, outstanding, and paid checks.
• Compare and balance ReconNET outstanding to bank outstanding.
• Scan bank statements and reconciliations and upload to Certification software.
• Complete reconciliation compliance using Certification software.
• Prepare outstanding issued checks for Unclaimed Property processing.
• Coordinate with Unclaimed Property staff for two year old outstanding transfer.
• Coordinate with banks to remove outstanding checks from reconciliation balancing reports.
• Organize and file reconciliation related documentation.

What You Can Bring:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Two to five years General Accounting experience and/or related training.
• One or more years Banking experience and/or related training.
• Two years’ experience in related work.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including ability to build spreadsheets for reconciliation balancing using VLookups and Pivot Tables.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Type 35 wpm.
• 10-key by touch (accuracy a must).
• Workday ERP system a plus.
• Trintech Cadency Reconciliation system a plus.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Excellent organization skills must be accurate and efficient.
• Proficient PC and Internet navigation skills.
