The Benefits Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for assessing and recommending improvements to benefit reconciliation processes and procedures. This role includes managing carrier invoice billing and payments for designated clients/carriers, streamlining and updating processes to align with client or systems changes, processing monthly benefit carrier invoices, and collaborating with other departments on matters related to benefit premiums and carrier payments
Essential Duties and Job Requirements:
• Execute a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timely implementation of benefit premium deductions
• Perform internal audits and controls to ensure the accuracy of benefit premium costs and reconciliation processes
• Reconcile benefit invoices accurately and promptly, ensuring they are submitted for payment and properly allocated in the general ledger
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals and ensure the success of benefit reconciliation tasks
Other Duties & Responsibilities
• Be punctual for all meetings and scheduled shifts, demonstrating reliability and consistency
• Promptly complete tasks assigned by management and ensure all duties are carried out thoroughly and with attention to detail
• Maintain consistency in actions, methods, and outcomes, and demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability
• Collaborate effectively as a team member, contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues as needed
• Take on responsibilities and challenges willingly, accept criticism constructively, and remain calms under pressure.
• Develop personal methods for completing tasks independently, guiding oneself with minimal supervision
• Be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, offering support and understanding on the job
• Serve as a source of information and training, helping the team to grow and succeed
• Engage in difficult conversations when necessary, ensuring clear and effective communication
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience, health benefits
• Knowledge of benefit policies, practices, and administrative procedures
• Familiarity and understanding of insurance and employee benefit plans
• Working knowledge of the Health Insurance industry across all coverage lines; Health, Life Disability, Dental, and Vision plans and familiarity with ACA and compliance, preferred
• Proficient with MS Office and Intermedial Microsoft EXCEL skills
• Professional Employer Organization (PEO) experience is a plus
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is listed below. However, you should know that the salary range may vary based on regional location, the candidate’s skill, and relevant experience. In addition, some positions may include a form of bonus or other incentive compensation, which would not be included in this salary range.
Annual Hourly Range: $20.00-25.00
