Job summary

Position Overview

This position serves as a primary ambassador for the Governor's Office, shaping the first impression for every constituent who reaches out. Essential to daily operations, this position provides invaluable insight into the inner workings of state government. The ideal candidate is professional, service orientated, and has the flexibility to thrive amidst changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and assist constituents in person and via phone with a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Be a helpful, knowledgeable resource for the public.
  • Deliver accurate information and guidance both in person and by phone.
  • Log constituent questions, policy feedback, and general inquiries into office tracking systems.
  • Route calls and incoming requests to the appropriate agency or staff contact for swift resolution.
  • Assist senior staff with scheduling and other administrative needs.
  • Perform clerical duties and support routine office administration.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to remain respectful and positive even when confronted by negative or emotional constituents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to switch tasks as the need arises and ensure necessary documentation is completed.
  • Knowledge of Google workspace and scheduling software are preferred.

Desired Qualifications

  • Substitution: College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
