Job summary

Atlas Copco's Receiving Specialist in Houston, TX will manage receiving, inspection, labeling, and placement of shipments to support production and other departments. You will coordinate with transportation, inventory, and production, and maintain accurate records in ERP systems while observing safety protocols.

Applicants typically have 0–2 years in receiving/logistics, a high school diploma, forklift certification, and proficiency with SAP S/4HANA and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Entry-level to 1–2 years in receiving, warehousing, or logistics roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Certified forklift operator with safe material handling.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; proactive problem solving.
• Proficient with computers including Word, Excel, Access, and SAP S/4HANA.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on shop floors and outdoors.
• Overtime flexibility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming shipments for damages and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Ensure receipt of shipments within 24 hours, aiming for a 95% compliance rate.
• Label and relocate materials to storage or production locations to optimize space.
• Maintain records in inventory management systems for control and audits.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment safely up to 80,000 lbs.
• Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics to communicate discrepancies.
• Participate in housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Adhere to Atlas Copco safety, quality, environmental, and health guidelines.
