Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Medication Receiving Technician for our Long-Term Care pharmacy. You will verify shipments, match orders, and ensure proper storage and labeling while maintaining accuracy in a regulated setting.

The role requires 1+ year of receiving experience, IL technician certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with multiple teams and participate in audits and cycle counts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and IL pharmacy technician certification.
• Minimum 1 year in pharmacy or inventory receiving; LTC/retail preferred.
• Familiar with NDCs, receiving documentation and warehouse processes.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify all incoming medication shipments (prescription drugs, OTCs, refrigerated meds, and controlled substances).
• Match purchase orders with invoices and packing slips; verify quantities and NDCs.
• Inspect packages for damage, expiration dates, and proper storage requirements.
• Enter received items into the inventory system (FrameworkLTC, SureCost).
• Label and shelve medications per storage guidelines and layout.
• Assist in rotating stock and removing short-dated/expired inventory.
• Handle controlled substances following DEA/state regs and internal protocols.
• Communicate discrepancies to Inventory Lead or Purchasing promptly.
