Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a detail-oriented Medication Receiving Technician to join our Long-Term Care Pharmacy team.

This role focuses on accurate and timely receipt of medications and supplies from vendors, with emphasis on documentation and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of pharmacy or inventory receiving experience, will be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and can work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy and organization.

Qualifications

• OH Pharmacy Technician Certification required per state regulations.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy or inventory receiving experience; LTC or retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Familiar with pharmaceutical products, NDCs, and receiving documentation.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify all incoming medication shipments, including prescription drugs, OTCs, refrigerated meds, and controlled substances.
• Match purchase orders with invoices and packing slips for accuracy in quantities and NDCs.
• Inspect packages for damage, expiration dates, and storage compliance (refrigeration, etc.).
• Enter received items into the inventory system (e.g., FrameworkLTC, SureCost).
• Label and shelve medications per storage guidelines and layout.
• Rotate stock and remove short-dated or expired inventory as part of QA.
• Handle controlled substances per DEA and state board regulations.
• Communicate discrepancies to Inventory Lead or Purchasing immediately.
• Collaborate with packaging, fulfillment, and order entry teams to ensure workflow.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving/inventory areas.
• Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
