Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a Warehouse Associate in the Receiving Department to verify incoming shipments against packing slips and POs, and to ensure inventory accuracy from the moment goods enter the branch. You’ll work with purchasing, warehouse floor, and shipping to keep stock reliable and accessible.

Responsibilities include documenting discrepancies, recording transactions, and placing goods in the correct locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior receiving, warehouse, or fulfillment experience preferred.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and Excel/email preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verify received product against packing slip and purchase order — right item, quantity, and condition.
• Record receiving transactions in the warehouse management system.
• Coordinate with purchasing on discrepancies to be resolved.
• Prioritize time-critical and backordered inbound freight to keep orders moving.
• Put received product away accurately to correct bin locations.
