Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a Warehouse Associate in Sterling, VA to support the shipping department. You will ensure accuracy in outbound orders, verify quantities, and attach correct documentation.

This role works Monday-Friday, 10:00am-7:00pm, with pay starting at $19-$22 per hour, depending on experience. You will collaborate with warehouse teammates and counter sales to keep orders on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior shipping/warehouse experience preferred; entry-level considered.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification required or obtainable within 30 days.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and Excel/Email preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Pull, verify, and stage outbound orders accurately.
• Confirm shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
• Conduct a final physical check on staged orders.
• Ensure will-call orders are staged and ready before customers arrive.
• Coordinate with counter sales and dispatch on priority orders.
• Generate and verify bills of lading, packing slips, and delivery confirmations.
• Document all shipping exceptions clearly and promptly.
• Maintain accurate records in the warehouse management system.
• Flag documentation errors before they leave the building.
• Return mis-picks and damaged product to proper locations.
