Job summary

Harris Health System is seeking a Virtual Patient Observation Technician (VPOT) to provide continuous real-time video monitoring of assigned patients in a hospital setting. You will verbally redirect patients engaged in at-risk behaviors and communicate with nursing staff for interventions or assistance.

The role requires strong attention to detail, bilingual English/Spanish abilities, and a background in clinical care.

Qualifications

High School diploma or the equivalent plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
Texas Nursing Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant certification from AMT/AAMA/NCCT/NAHP/NAHP and BLS.
Two years of related clinical experience required.
Related specialty experience preferred (e.g., direct patient care, virtual observation, telemetry).
Basic computer, wireless telephone, intercom/headset communication are used.

Responsibilities

Provide constant, real-time video monitoring of assigned patients.
Verbally redirect patients from at-risk behaviors and alert nursing staff as needed.
Document observations according to standards and participate in quality initiatives.
Promote a customer-friendly environment using ServiceFirst behaviors and Language of Caring.
