Harris Health System seeks a Virtual Patient Observation Technician (VPOT) for Ben Taub Hospital in Houston. This part-time evening role provides real-time video monitoring of patients to maintain a safe care environment and timely communication with the nursing team.

You will document observations, follow safety protocols, interact with patients and families, and support performance improvement initiatives while staying focused on accuracy and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical skills or training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Texas Nursing Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant certification (AMT/AAMA/NCCT/NHA/NAHP) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time video monitoring of assigned patients.
• Observe and identify at-risk behaviors and provide verbal redirection.
• Communicate with nursing staff for necessary interventions.
• Document observations per established standards.
• Interact with patients, families, and staff professionally, supporting a customer-friendly environment.
