Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. seeks a Perception & Fusion engineer to design, integrate, and maintain real‑time sensor software for heterogeneous autonomous platforms. You will fuse EO, IR, radar, and other sensor data, and deploy AI/ML models on embedded Linux devices.

You will collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for field demonstrations and DoD tests, while optimizing performance and documenting progress for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, Optimization, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with multiple sensor modalities (EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, acoustics, etc.).
• Experience training ML algorithms (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow) onto integrated systems (ONNX, C++ models).
• Experience with state of the art estimation, tracking, and fusion algorithms.
• Experience with Linux and Docker.
• Travel willingness and ability to relocate to Poway, CA.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and adapt cutting‑edge AI/ML algorithms running on the perception autonomy stack.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control sensors (EO, IR, acoustics, radar, RF).
• Collaborate across sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for on‑site DoD testing and demonstrations.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and gather performance data.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand use cases and triage needs during field events.
• Triager technical problems and communicate progress clearly.
• Drive simulation tooling to playback sensors, platforms, and autonomy in post‑processing analysis.
• Implement improvement plans based on simulation results and customer feedback.
