Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception Autonomy engineer to design and integrate real-time sensor AI/ML software for diverse autonomous platforms. You will fuse sensor data and deploy on embedded Linux, collaborating across teams for DoD testing and customer demonstrations.

The role requires advanced degrees or equivalent experience, strong Python/C++/ML skills, and a background in sensor fusion and Linux/Docker environments. Willingness to travel for demonstrations is expected.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, Optimization or equivalent; or 5+ years of sensor algorithm experience.
• Experience with multiple sensor modalities (EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, acoustics).
• Experience training and deploying ML algorithms onto integrated systems (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow; ONNX).
• Familiarity with Kalman filters and optimal sensor fusion.
• Proficient with Linux and Docker; comfortable with remote software development and large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and adapt AI/ML algorithms on the perception autonomy stack for multiple sensors.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control sensors (EO, IR, acoustics, radar, RF).
• Collaborate across sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for on-site DoD testing and demonstrations.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and collect performance data.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand use cases and triage needs during field events.
• Triage technical problems with the team and scope work; document progress for internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive simulation tooling to replay sensors, platforms, and autonomy in post-processing field tests.
• Implement improvement plans based on simulation analysis and customer feedback.
