Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception Autonomy engineer to develop and integrate real-time sensor software across heterogeneous autonomous platforms. You will design and deploy AI/ML sensor algorithms to fuse data from EO, IR, lidar, radar, and acoustics, enabling robust perception across domains including land, air, sea, and space.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline or 5+ years of sensor algorithms experience.
• Experience with EO/IR/lidar/radar and other sensor modalities.
• Proficient in Linux and Docker; able to handle large datasets in remote development environments.
• Experience training and deploying ML on integrated systems (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, C++).

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and adapt AI/ML sensor algorithms for the perception autonomy stack.
• Create interfacing software to control sensors and fuse multi-modal data.
• Collaborate across sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for DoD field testing and demonstrations.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and profile performance.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand use cases and deliver value.
• Triage technical problems and document progress for internal/external stakeholders.
• Drive simulation tooling to playback sensors, platforms, and autonomy in post-processing.
• Implement improvement plans based on simulation analysis and customer feedback.
