Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Real Time Operations Solution Engineer to design and implement architecture for SCADA, EMS, and ADMS systems, ensuring reliability and standards compliance.

You will lead troubleshooting, mentor engineers, coordinate vendor support, and analyze system performance. The role also involves upgrades, scripting, backups, and on-call duties, with on-site opportunities in multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with relevant OT/IT experience.
• Experience with SCADA/EMS/ADMS systems preferred.
• Knowledge of OT networking and data archiving (PI/system).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement architecture for SCADA, EMS, and ADMS systems with reliability and standards adherence.
• Lead troubleshooting, mentor juniors, and coordinate vendor support for EMS/SCADA applications.
• Analyze performance metrics, investigate issues, and propose improvements from user feedback.
• Develop features, conduct code reviews, and ensure coding standards.
• Support platform software upgrades and perform OT platform analysis.
• Configure data archives and network monitoring tools; write repeatable deployment scripts (PowerShell, Batch, Python).
• Perform routine backups, restore tests, and document emergency procedures; provide after-hours on-call support.
