Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced IT/OT Systems Engineer to design and implement SCADA, EMS, and ADMS architectures. You will troubleshoot with vendors, mentor junior staff, and analyze performance metrics to drive improvements.

Responsibilities include developing features, conducting code reviews, and supporting platform upgrades. You will configure data archives (PI, OSI Chronus) and assist network monitoring setups. Occasional travel and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or associate’s degree with relevant experience, or high school diploma/GED with relevant experience.
• Senior level alternatives: bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, associate’s degree with 4 years, or high school diploma/GED with 6 years.
• Relevant fields include IT/OT System Administration, IT/OT Application Support, Cyber Security, ADMS/DMA/EMS/OMS/SCADA
• Professional certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA, CCNP, Cyber Security+, Security+, and CCSP may substitute for part of required experience
• ASP.NET WebAPI and general ASP.NET Core skills
• SQL Server T-SQL, database modeling and design
• Strong SQL query writing and tuning skills
• Micro ORM experience, preferably Dapper or RepoDb rather than Entity Framework
• Experience building Windows Services with .NET
• Experience with .NET 4.8 and .NET Core 3.1 through 10
• Blazor Server required
• Blazor Hybrid or Blazor WASM nice to have but not required
• Overtime, on-call assignments, and occasional travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Design and implement architecture for SCADA, EMS, and ADMS systems.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and coordinate vendor support for EMS and SCADA applications.
• Mentor junior engineers
• Analyze system performance metrics and investigate application-related issues
• Recommend improvements based on user feedback
• Develop new features and enhancements
• Conduct code reviews and ensure coding-standard adherence
• Support SCADA/EMS platform software upgrades and perform operational technology platform analysis
• Configure and support data archives including PI and OSI Chronus
• Participate in configuring network monitoring tools
• Develop PowerShell, Batch, and Python scripts for configuration changes and patch deployment
• Analyze logs and application/system monitors to identify potential issues
• Create strategic plans for performance events
• Conduct routine backups and periodic restoration tests
• Document emergency restoration procedures
• Provide after-hours support through an on-call rotation for DMS/EMS and SCADA systems
