Job summary

Moffitt & Mesaros Lebanon is seeking a Medical Scribe to support physicians by documenting patient encounters in real time in the EHR. The role emphasizes confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness, enabling providers to focus on patient care.

Responsibilities include recording histories, symptoms, examinations, plans, orders, and preparing charts for visits; updating records, retrieving results, and communicating questions to providers while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, biology, pre-medical studies, or related field preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and clinical documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the provider during patient visits and document the encounter in real time.
• Record patient history, symptoms, exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up instructions as directed.
• Update patient charts in the electronic health record and prepare charts before appointments.
• Enter orders, referrals, prescriptions, and diagnostic tests for provider review.
• Assist with locating lab results, imaging reports, and other clinical information.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and HIPAA-compliant.
• Communicate documentation questions to the provider and collaborate with the clinical team.
