Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Medical Practice Scribe to document physician services in real time during patient encounters. This role emphasizes accurate entry into the EHR as dictated by the provider, while the clinician remains with the patient.

The scribe will accompany physicians, enter information under their log-in, and retrieve data for review. The position involves recording diagnoses, prescriptions and discharge instructions, performing clerical tasks, and adhering to all Scribe

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinical setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the physician during visits and document in real time.
• Enter information into the EHR as dictated by the physician using own log-in.
• Retrieve labs, radiology reports and records for physician review.
• Record physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and discharge instructions.
• Will not touch patients or perform clinical tasks.
• Adhere to Scribe: Guidelines for Use in the Medical Office and incident reporting.
• Perform other clerical duties as assigned by operations manager.
• Comply with HIPAA and Springfield Clinic privacy requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional conduct.
