Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a software engineer to develop and integrate real-time HWIL flight simulator software for missiles. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to understand requirements and craft robust software solutions for hardware-in-the-loop test environments.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM and experience with C++, Linux/RTOS, and related embedded technologies; active DoD Secret clearance or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with software development in C++, using the object-oriented features.
• Experience including at least two of: Embedded Software, Embedded Software Security, Embedded Operating Systems (Linux, RTOS, VxWorks, etc).
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start with the ability to obtain program access after start.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop software to control Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) facilities (flight simulators for missiles).
• Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
• Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
• Software design, coding and integration in a real-time environment.
• May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
