Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator Inc. is seeking a System Operator- Balancing Authority and Unit Dispatch to join our team, helping ensure electricity reliability for millions across the footprint.

You will balance real-time load with generation and manage security-constrained economic dispatch for the fleet. On the job, you will complete required certifications, work a 12-hour rotating shift, and contribute to reliable, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of related experience in the energy or operations industry.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; educational equivalency may be established with a combination of education, training, certifications and directly related experience
• A current NERC/RC Certification
• Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Successful completion of the Unit Dispatch and Balancing Authority Certifications and Board exams
• Work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule to ensure reliable, efficient, and compliant execution of MISO’s Balancing and Dispatch (BA) functions
