Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a GENCO System Operator to monitor and manage real-time generation resources, ensuring the reliability of Alliant Energy's East and West Balancing Authority Areas. You will coordinate with CIPCO and MISO, dispatch units, and maintain detailed logs of events and actions.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in a control, dispatch, operations, or similar center environment.
• NERC certs knowledge or familiarity is preferred.
• Willingness to obtain NERC System Operator Certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support real-time operation of generating resources to maintain reliability.
• Use GMS to monitor load, frequency, generation, and equipment status.
• Dispatch units per MISO instructions and operating procedures.
• Maintain operational logs and document system events and changes.
• Contribute to emergency response activities and training for NERC certification.
