Job summary

RTX BBN Technologies seeks a Principal Software Engineer in Middletown, RI to design, develop, and integrate high-performance embedded real-time software for DoD systems. Responsibilities include collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring staff, and supporting real-world testing and deployment.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++ skills, RTOS experience (VxWorks/Linux), and a solid hardware/software integration background in a multi-processor environment.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 8+ years experience.
• Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance on day one.
• Experience with Embedded C/C++ software, high performance computer systems, embedded real-time sensors and control applications, or software architecture design and implementation.
• Experience using RTOS (e.g., VxWorks, Green Hills, Integrity) and Linux.
• Experience integrating hardware, firmware and software into complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate high-performance embedded real-time software on multi-processor/ FPGA platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and test contributions for performance.
• Mentor less experienced staff and participate in design reviews.
